The cutter does not move

Reason: Loose connecting wire . Paper jam of cutter . Damaged main board of cutter.

Method:Verify that the cable is properly connected . Remove the label . Verify that the thickness of the label is less than 0.19mm . Replace the main board of the cutter.


Print instability

1.The printer is in Hex Dump mode.Turn the printer back on.Jump out of Hex Dump mode.

2.Serial communication (RS-232)setting is incorrect.Reset printer and computer.The baud rate is consistent.


Can not print

Reason:The PIN in the serial cable in the transmission line slot of the machine is not 1 to 1.

Method:Reconnect the transmission lines. If using a serial port cable,replace the serial port cable with a 1 to 1 PIN in the cable. Please confirm that the transmission rate set in the printer is 9600,n,8,1. If using Ethernet cable.Please confirm that the blue/purple light of Ethernet RJ-45 is on. Please confirm that the purple light blinks when the data is transmitted through Ethernet RJ-45 transmission line. Please confirm that the printer has the IP address when DHCP mode is used. Please wait a few seconds for the printer to contact the server, and then confirm the IP address again.Replace the transmission cable. Clean the print head. The print concentration of the printer is not set correctly. The connection line of the printing head is not properly connected. Please turn off the printer power and reconnect the connection line of the printing head. Please confirm whether the connecting wire of the stepping motor is connected correctly. Please confirm that there is PRINT command in the PRINT program to the file.Last and at the end of each line of instructions must be CRLF.


The power indicator is off

1. The AC power socket plug and the power supply plug are not properly connected to the printer socket. Check the power connector and verify that the AC socket and power supply plug are properly connected to the printer.

2. The printer power switch is not turned on. Turn on the power switch.


Black label paper with gray lines

1.The print head is dirty.Clean print head.

2.Rubber roller is dirty.Cleaning rubber roller.


Wrinkle problem

Reason: Print head pressure uneven.The carbon tape is not installed correctly.Label paper is not installed correctly.Print density is incorrect.Label paper is not feeding correctly.

Method: Please set the appropriate labelto print.Please adjust the label width adjuster.Make it suitable for label width.


The RTC time is not accurate after the printer is restarted

The battery is dead. Please check the battery on the mainboard.

The left and right sides of the print content are missing

The label size setting is incorrect.Set the correct label size.

The printing position of the small volume label is incorrect

1.The label sensor is incorrectly set. Calibrate the label sensor.

2.The label size is not set correctly. Set the correct volume label size and volume label gap size.

3.The vertical offset set in the volume label style in the printer driver is incorrect. If you are using the BarTender software, set Vertical Offset in the printer driver.


Paper skipping occurs when printing

Reason:The label size is incorrect or incomplete. The sensor is not readjust after the label is replaced, and the sensor is covered with dust.

Method:Make sure that the label size is set correctly. Correct the label sensor and remove dust from the sensor using an air brush.


Poor print quality

Reason: Label paper installed incorrect.Dust or adhesive buildup on the printhead.Improper print density setting.Print head is damaged.

Method: Reinstalling supplies.Cleaning the print head.Cleaning rubber roller.Adjust printer print density and printing speed.Print out the self-test value, check the judgment the print head is damaged. If the print head is damaged,please return to the factory to replace the print head.Replace the appropriate label paper.If the thickness of the label exceeds 0.22mm may cause deterioration in print quality.Make sure the printhead mount is fully closed.Adjust the print head pressure adjustment button.If the printed label is too light on the left side, please adjust the value of the pressure adjustment button on the left side. If the value is already "5" and the print on the left side is still too light, please change the value of the pressure adjustment button back to "1" and then adjust the Z-axis regulator to find the best pressure setting. If the label printed on the right side is too light, adjust and increase the value of the pressure adjustment button on the right side to improve the printing quality.


"Paper Jam" is displayed in the printer Diagnostic Tool.

1. Gap/black mark sensor sensitivity is not set properly (sensor sensitivity is not enough). Calibrate the gap/black mark sensor.

2.Make sure label size is set properly.Set label size exactly as installed paper in the labeling software program. 

3.Labels may be stuck inside the printer mechanism near the sensor area. Remove the stuck label.


The printer Diagnostic Tool displays "Paper Used Up".

1. If the labels are used up, install a new label.

2. The volume label installation path is incorrect. Reinstall the volume label.

3. If the gap/black label sensor is incorrect, readjust the label sensor.


The printer Diagnostic Tool displays "Carbon tape exhausted".

1. If the carbon tape is used up, install a new carbon tape.

2. The carbon tape installation path is incorrect. Reinstall the carbon tape by following the steps described in Installing the carbon tape.


The Printer Diagnostic Tool displays "Printer On".

Print head holder is not closed, please close the print head holder.

Calibrate paper sensors with printer diagnostic tools

1. Ensure that the paper is installed correctly, the print head is closed, and the paper passes through the paper gap sensor.

2. Power on the printer.

3. Enable the Diagnostic Tool and set the transmission port (the default value is USB).

4. Press the Sensor Calibration key.

5. Select the type of paper and press the "Correct" key. Then the printer will automatically feed the paper to correct the sensor.


Select and calibrate clearance sensors

1. Turn off the power supply.

2. Press and hold the feed button and turn on the power. At this time the power indicator light will be the following color cycle.

Indicator color cycle mode:

Purple - blue - red(Flash 5 times) - purple (Flash 5 times)- blue(Flash 5 times) - bluish violet(Blink 5 times alternately)-reddish violet(Blink 5 times alternately)- blue (fixed)

3. When the power indicator blinks alternately in reddish violet, release the feed key, and the printer will mark the sensor with a black line, and finally the power indicator will be blue and ready.


Select and correct black label sensor

1. Turn off the power supply.

2. Press and hold the feed button and turn on the power. At this time the power indicator light will be the following color cycle.

Indicator color cycle mode:

Purple - blue - red(Flash 5 times) - purple (Flash 5 times)- blue(Flash 5 times) - bluish violet(Blink 5 times alternately)-reddish violet(Blink 5 times alternately)- blue (fixed)

3. When the power indicator blinks alternately in bluish violet, release the feed key, and the printer will mark the sensor with a black line, and finally the power indicator will be blue and ready.


LED Color Description

Blue/ Solid : This illuminates that the power is on and the device isready to use.

Blue/ Flash : This illuminates that the system is downloading datafrom PC to memory and the printer is paused.

Purple : This illuminates that the system is clearing data fromprinter.

Red / Solid : This illuminates printer head open.

Red/ Flash : This illuminates a printing error, such as head open,paper empty, paper jam, or memory error etc.

Printer initialization

1. Hold down the FEED button, and then turn on the power switch.

2. Press and hold down the FEED key until the indicator blinks blue quickly.

3. The printer will automatically restore factory Settings (the blue light will turn on after the indicator light is off).


Print the self-test page

1. Hold down the FEED button, and then turn on the power switch.

2. Press and hold down the FEED key until the indicator blinks purple quickly.

3. The printer automatically corrects the paper and prints the self-test page.


Paper correction operation

1. Hold down the FEED button, and then turn on the power switch.

2. Press and hold down the FEED key until the indicator blinks red quickly.

3. The printer starts to automatically correct the paper, and the paper is finished.


View printer Bluetooth information

Print the self-check page. If you have used the printed self-check page to check the Bluetooth information, if there is no relevant Bluetooth information in the self-check page, it indicates that the machine has no Bluetooth function.

Bluetooth name and password change

Log on to Ninestar's website https://label.ggimage.com/ ,The driver downloads the diagnostic tool, decompresses it and opens it.Connect the computer to the printer. Click on the upper right to read (the machine is normally connected and displays green standby). Click Read in the lower left corner to read the printer information. Click the BT/WIFI item in the interface to see the Bluetooth related information. Modify the Bluetooth name and password. Click the setting button below and wait for the printer to restart automatically. Click Read again to view Bluetooth information and confirm that the modification is complete.

Carbon tape and printer paper installation

1. Insert the reel into the mandrel of the carbon tape.

2. Insert another reel into the carbon tape recycling paper tube.

3. Load the printing paper into the paper reel and fix it.

4. Load the carbon tape onto the carbon tape shaft of the printer.

5. Load the carbon tape recycling paper tube onto the carbon tape recycling shaft.

6. Pull out the front of the carbon tape and paste it onto the recycled paper tube.

7. Roll out the carbon tape.

8. Put the paper shaft of the printer paper into the paper bin.

9. Pull the printer paper forward and through the paper height limit shaft.

10. Adjust the position of the paper jammer and close the cover when finished.
